This 5 day course is an introduction to accident investigation. The prime objective of accident investigation is prevention – finding the causes of an accident and taking steps to control or eliminate it can help prevent similar accidents from happening in the future.

This course is designed to provide local union representatives with the skills and confidence required to investigate grievances, prepare for, and conduct grievance arbitration. Participants will work directly with Unifor's seasoned staff Representatives and will gain hands-on experience researching case law, preparing a file for arbitration, examining and cross-examining witnesses, developing opening and closing statements, and responding to Employer objections. Participants will have the unique opportunity to prepare and present at a mock arbitration.
