Unifor is a trade union, with a democratic structure governed by a Constitution. Its structure demonstrates strong governance, fair representation, and transparent practices. Unifor's constitution and policies are shaped through democratic processes, with decision-making bodies that reflect the collective voice and interests of our members.

The Procedure Policy on Constitutional Matters is made pursuant to Article 18 of the Unifor Constitution. It establishes the time limits and procedural requirements that apply to procedures under our Constitution.

The Unifor Public Review Board (PRB) is an independent body that decides disputes about the Constitution and related policies. It can be contacted at the address listed on its website.

Policies for Local Unions 

The Policy regarding local union elections establishes the rules that all local unions must follow for electing leaders and workplace representatives. 

The Local Union Expense Policy describes the amounts that local union members may claim when participating in authorized Unifor activities.
