Autoport Eastern Passage workers prepare for potential strike action
Dear Members,
The bargaining team at Autoport Eastern Passage has been actively engaged in discussions with our employer since September 28, 2023. Our existing collective agreement concluded on December 31, 2023.
We're excited to share that we've reached a preliminary agreement for a new collective bargaining contract for nearly 1,000 of our members at CN Transportation Ltd. (CNTL). This group includes our dedicated owner-operator truck drivers across Canada, proudly represented by Unifor National Council 4000.
Unifor is presently in negotiations with CN Transportation Ltd. (CNTL) on the renewal of a new collective agreement on behalf of approximately 700 Unifor members who are contracted as dependant owner-operators with the company. CNTL is a subsidiary of the Canadian National Railway Co.

Unifor’s Local 101R Ratify Tentative Agreement With Toronto Terminals Railway
Vancouver, British Columbia, Unifor Local 101R-60 members ratified the tentative agreement reached with Toronto Terminals Railway (TTR) on August 24, 2023.
Unifor represents approximately seventy (70) engineers and conductors working at TTR at Delta Port and South Shore located Vancouver, BC.
Workers at the Thunder Bay Alstom plant were shocked to learn that the federal and Ontario governments failed to officially allocate funding needed to purchase 80 subway trains for the TTC Line 2 operations and expansion. This failure caused the TTC to cancel its Request for Proposals (RFP) to purchase these vehicles. All levels of government have been actively aware of the urgency to fund this replacement for years.
Toronto – Unifor denounces the recent termination of Mark Chudak, President of the Society of Professional Engineers and Associates (SPEA) by SNC-Lavalin in what the union perceives as a hostile anti-union move.
We are happy to announce that the Local 100 membership working at the Hudson Bay Railway (HBR) has voted to ratify the tentative agreement reached between the parties on June 28, 2023.
Unifor represents approximately twenty (20) Local 100 mechanics working in The Pas, Manitoba, who inspect, repair and maintain HBR’s Freight Car and Locomotive fleet.
