Applications are now open for the fall intake of Unifor's Local Union Equity Fund (LUEF).
The Local Union Equity Fund (LUEF) supports local unions in developing and expanding initiatives that advance equity, remove barriers, and create more inclusive workplaces and communities. By investing in local projects, the fund helps strengthen equity across Unifor and empowers members to drive meaningful change.
Unifor is investing up to $250,000 to support projects through the fund in 2026.
Local unions interested in applying for this round of funding must submit a completed application by Oct. 16, 2026.
As part of an LUEF-supported initiative, Local 4606 hosted a Pride-focused education and community event in Halifax earlier this year, featuring the workshop “Creating a Welcoming Workspace for 2SLGBTQIA+ Individuals.”
Facilitated by Rae Paul, the workshop provided a safe, welcoming and educational environment where participants explored a variety of topics and shared that they left feeling more knowledgeable and equipped with useful information. The event also gave participants an opportunity to connect over a complimentary lunch and to reflect, share experiences and build community throughout the afternoon.
