Labour Day is not only a time to relax and enjoy with family and friends, but also an opportunity to stand in solidarity with our fellow workers and show our collective strength. Find an event near you:

Alberta

Event:   32nd Annual Labour Day BBQ
When:  Monday, September 4, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Where: Clarke Stadium, 11000 Stadium Road, Edmonton

  • The 32nd Annual Labour Day Barbeque hosted by the Edmonton and District Labour Council will be held Monday, September 4th, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the new location of Clarke Stadium, 11000 Stadium Road, Edmonton. Fresh BBQ’ d food, corn and frozen treats will be provided as well as live music, entertainment and a bouncy castle. The Edmonton Elks promotional squad will also be joining in on the festivities.

  • Parade participants will marshal in the area of the Home Hardware parking lot for the parade that begins at 11 a.m. and proceeds south on Goderich Street.
  • Following the parade there will be a barbecue with free food, music and family fun at the Unifor Centre.

    Organizers ask people to support the Port Elgin foodbank by bringing a non‑perishable food item to the parade/barbecue.

    Among those marching will be members of the Retired Workers Council who are attending a five-day National conference at the Unifor Centre.
