An agreement in principle was reached last night in the lock-out opposing members of Unifor the union and Bécancour company Quebec Silicon.

The ratification meeting is set for this Friday, December 27th. No information about the content of the agreement will be released or commented on until the members vote on Friday.

Unifor local 184 represents the 145 members of the Bécancour facility who have been locked out since May 3, 2013.

« I’m thrilled that we were able to come to a tentative agreement and end this lengthy lock out just before the holidays,” said Unifor National President Jerry Dias. “This is great news for our members and for the community of Bécancour – in time for the holidays and a start to 2014.”
