Unifor Local 114 representing members at Kamloops Transit in British Columbia have a new four-year collective agreement with substantial wage increases.
“Congratulations to the bargaining committee for securing a fair collective agreement for our Kamloops Transit members,” said Unifor National President Lana Payne.
“This new deal will help relieve some cost-of-living pressures our members face every day.”
The biggest gains of this contract include wage increases of 20% to 31%, depending on job classification, increases to the Defined Benefit Plus pension contributions, improved funding for intimate partner violence leave, and the introduction of a Women’s Advocate position.
“Unifor is the transit union in British Columbia, and we will continue to fight hard to raise standards for transit workers and the public transit system,” Unifor Western Regional Director Gavin McGarrigle.
Unifor Local 114 represents 166 members in this unit working as bus drivers, administrative staff, servicepersons and mechanics for the transit service.
“The improvements will see wage increases that will help members with raising costs, close the wage gap with other transit systems, and work towards achieving a pension that will allow members in the future to retire with dignity,” said Unifor Local 114 President Gord McGrath.
This agreement will expire March 31, 2029.
