On the international day of action to support the search of the Brady Road Landfill, Unifor renews its call to honour the wishes of the families for a comprehensive search.

Today is also the resumption of the 44th session of Parliament. Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2-Spirited Peoples is a national disgrace that transcends provincial boundaries. As such, the federal government must place the implementation of the Calls for Justice of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls at the top of the legislative agenda. The final report gives all Canadians the roadmap for stopping this violence: it is our job to listen and to act.

We must demand more from our elected officials, and they must understand there is no time to waste.

Unifor extends its unequivocal support to the families and organizations championing this cause and demanding immediate action. It is not just about a search—it is about justice, closure, and respect for the families of the missing women who have endured so much pain.

Local unions are encouraged to take action today: please visit https://searchthelandfill.com/ and see what is happening near you under Upcoming Events.
