Hospitality workers from Unifor-represented hotels across Canada will gather for two days in Toronto, meeting to discuss bargaining goals and organizing in the industry.
The summit will take place at the Hyatt Regency, one of the newest hotels represented by the union and Local 7575.
The first day of the Summit will include a number of panel discussions looking gains made in bargaining and ways to collectively improve working conditions in the industry for both unionized and non-unionized employees. There will also be a number of workshops for participants focusing on specific job sectors within the industry, and the challenges and opportunities workers face.
The second day of the Summit will feature several drop-in sessions for workers at the Fairmont Royal York hotel, providing an opportunity to meet Unifor hospitality sector members, including from Fairmont properties across Canada.
The hospitality and gaming sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in Unifor, representing more than 19,000 workers in every region of the country. This Summit brings together members from coast to coast to build our network of solidarity and support each other’s work.
