Congress of Union Retirees of Canada
More than half a million retired union members are able to speak with one voice through the Congress of Union Retirees of Canada.
National Pensioners Federation is a national, not-for-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian organization with 350 seniors’ chapters, clubs, groups, organizations and individual supporters across Canada. It has a collective membership of 1,000,000 seniors and retirees who are devoted entirely to the welfare and best interests of aging Canadians. The mission is to stimulate public interest in the welfare of aging Canadians. The goal is to help seniors and retirees have a life of dignity, independence and financial security.
Ontario Federation of Union Retirees (OFUR)
The Ontario Federation of Union Retirees (OFUR) evolved from a chapter of the Canadian Congress of Retirees which was chartered by the CLC in the mid 1980’s.
OFUR is dedicated to the proposition that Ontario retirees, as free citizens, are entitled to secure and protect their mutual welfare and that of their families by all legitimate means.
Inherent in this proposition is the attainment of its economic, social and legislative objectives through the organization of Ontario retirees from free trade unions and it will, at all times, hold true to the high ideals and principals of social justice on which the Labour movement was founded.
A wide range of Union Retiree’s Organizations representing thousands of Retirees are affiliated to OFUR.
The Manitoba Federation of Union Retirees (MFUR) is the Manitoba affiliate of the 500,000-member Congress of Union Retirees of Canada (CURC).
We are retired union members, supportive of the aims and objectives of Canada's trade union movement.
We are proud affiliates of the Canadian Labour Congress and its 3.5 million members, and the Manitoba Federation of Labour, and its 130,000 members.
Established in 1950, the Council of Senior Citizens’ Organization (COSCO) is an umbrella organization made up of many seniors’ organizations and individual associate members. Registered under the Societies Act since 1981, COSCO has grown and now represents approximately 80,000 seniors in British Columbia.
COSCO is run by volunteers, with activities coordinated through an elected Board of Directors.
Our mandate is to promote the well-being of seniors and their families, advocating for policies that allow seniors to remain active, independent, and fully engaged in the life of our province. The organization is non-partisan, but politically active, advocating for seniors’ needs no matter who is in power.
Affiliated with the BC Centre for Policy Alternatives, the BC Health Coalition, the BC Public Interest Advocacy Centre and the National Pensioners’ Federation, COSCO directors and members collaborate with others in a common cause.
