UNIFOR BC COUNCIL WILL:
Hold a bi-annual EFAP/Mental Health/ Addictions Conference starting in 2025 with the timing and venue of the conference to be established by the BC Council executive board.

Unifor BC Regional Council will:
Lobby the Provincial Government to exempt newspapers from the Recycle BC fee.

Regulating Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Unifor BC Regional Council will:
Lobby the provincial government to set up a provincial register documenting the use of artificial intelligence in British Columbia.
Study the Al issue further and approach employers with a view to working with them to draft, develop and enforce collective bargaining language that will preserve and protect the workforce as well as journalistic integrity and democracy.
In conjunction with Unifor Media Council and Media Action Plan, create a campaign highlighting the dangers of artificial intelligence (AI), including but not limited to: content creation, rights (copyright) enforcement including discussions with media employers, unions, colleges and universities, and other impacted stakeholder groups, with an aim to educating the public, proposing policy and engaging with policymakers on the threats posed by theft of reliable information from media workers and organizations

BC Regional Council Resolution #4
Gender Based Violence and Intimate Partner Violence
Unifor B.C. Regional Council Will:
Declare Gender Based Violence and Intimate Partner Violence an Epidemic; and
Lobby the B.C. government to introduce and implement legislation making the same declaration, and
Encourage all B.C. locals to support these lobbying and advocacy efforts.

Nelson Lamarche Memorial Scholarship
UNIFOR BC REGIONAL COUNCIL WILL:
Create a Nelson Lamarche Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship will sponsor a 2SLGBTQIA+ Unifor Member in BC to attend the bi-annual Unifor Pride Conference at the Unifor Family Education Centre. Priority will be given to Members currently in, or who grew up in, rural communities.
