This course builds health and safety activist knowledge and skills in the anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of chemical, physical, biological, and psychosocial hazards in the workplace. We will explore how these hazards can affect workers, and the acute and chronic health effects of these hazardous workplace substances. We will process through workplace hazard mapping and learn about other investigative methods associated with the practice of industrial hygiene. This course will deepen understanding of the concepts, terminology, and methodology of Industrial Hygiene. We will also critically assess the legislative and regulatory framework that governs Industrial Hygiene in our workplaces.

Prerequisite: 5-Day Health & Safety course is required.
