Jazz Aviation Crew Scheduling members from Unifor Local 2002, working at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, have secured a new four-year collective agreement, ratifying the contract by 100%.
“Congratulations to the bargaining committee on this win, which includes an immediate significant wage gain. Jazz Crew schedulers do vital work to keep the airline running, and this agreement delivers meaningful recognition of their contributions through substantial wage gains, new premiums and improved benefits,” said Unifor National President Lana Payne.
“This is a picture of success through collective bargaining. Members have shown, unanimously, that this new contract meets their needs, and it does so by respecting workers.”
The deal provides significant wage increases, new premiums, improved benefits, and a signing bonus for eligible members.
Members will see a 21% wage increase over the life of the contract, with 12% in year one retro-active to July 1, 2025, and 3% wage increases in each subsequent year.
The new agreement also contains premium pay for overnight shifts, training, and forced overtime. There is now language for a Women’s Advocate, Racial Justice Advocate and the Unifor Social Justice Fund.
"This achievement is a direct reflection of the solidarity, strength and continued support shown by the membership throughout the bargaining process,” said Unifor Local 2002 President Tammy Moore.
“I also want to recognize the bargaining committee for remaining committed to the process and working hard to negotiate an agreement that delivers important gains."
The new agreement will remain in effect until June 30, 2029.
