Unifor Local 1090 members at Ajax Casino and Pickering Casino Resort began strike action at 12:01 a.m. July 31, 2026, after negotiations with the employer failed to produce a fair contract for nearly 900 gaming workers.
The members at these two properties are seeking a wage increase that recognises their expertise and contribution to the company’s success.
Unifor Local 1090 represents a wall-to-wall bargaining unit at both properties, including workers on the gaming floor and in cash cages to food and beverage, housekeeping, and shipping and receiving personnel.
