The Unifor Atlantic Regional Council held a “Family Fun Day” on August 2, bringing members and their families together in St. John's for an afternoon of food, activities and community.
“Events like Family Fun Day remind us that our union is about more than the workplace—it’s about people, families and the relationships that make our movement stronger,” said Atlantic Regional Director Jennifer Murray. “It was wonderful to see so many members and their loved ones come together to enjoy the afternoon and celebrate the solidarity that defines Unifor.”
The event featured free barbecued food, bouncy castles, face painting, games and Unifor-themed prizes. Members had the opportunity to connect outside of the workplace and celebrate the strength of their union community.
The event highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for members and their families to connect, strengthen friendships, and build lasting relationships across the union.
"One of the greatest strengths of the Atlantic Regional Council is the sense of community we've built across our region," said Atlantic Regional Council Chair Adele Jackman. "When we invest in opportunities for members and their families to come together, we're strengthening the bonds that make our union resilient.
Unifor thanks the volunteers and organizers whose hard work made the event a success, as well as everyone who attended and helped make the afternoon a memorable celebration of solidarity and community.
