Unifor leadership, members and their families gathered at Atlantic Splash Adventure in Halifax on July 25 for the Atlantic Membership Appreciation Day. The event celebrated the strength and solidarity that unite workers across the region.
“This day is about recognizing the incredible commitment of our members and giving them the opportunity to spend quality time with their families and fellow union members,” said Jennifer Murray, Atlantic Regional Director. “The solidarity we build at events like this strengthens our union and reminds us that we’re at our best when we come together.”
Hosted by the Atlantic Regional Council with support from Unifor National and the Halifax Area Recreational Committee, the annual event brought members together for a day of fun, connection and appreciation. Admissions included exclusive access to the park, lunch and opportunities to win prizes.
The event welcomed members from across Atlantic Canada, with families enjoying the waterpark, amusement rides and activities throughout the day. Membership Appreciation Day continues to be one of the region’s most anticipated annual gatherings, celebrating the power of collective action while spending time with colleagues, family and friends.
“Member Appreciation Day is our way of saying thank you to the members whose dedication makes Unifor the strong, democratic union it is,” said Adele Jackman, Atlantic Regional Council Chair. “Seeing members from across this region come together with their families is a reminder that our union is built on community, solidarity and the relationships we create inside and outside of the workplace.”
The annual event reflects Unifor’s ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for members to connect beyond their workplaces while strengthening the relationships that make the union a powerful voice for workers across Atlantic Canada.
