Unifor members at Coast Mountain Bus Company met with the employer from June 1 to 5, 2026, for a further round of negotiations toward a renewed collective agreement.
The two sides worked through the week but did not reach an agreement.
Both parties have agreed to continue discussions with the assistance of a mediator. The mediator will work with the union and the employer to support the negotiation process and help the parties move toward a settlement.
Unifor Local 111 represents Transit Operators, while Local 2200 represents Skilled Trades, Service and SeaBus workers. Together, the two locals represent over 5,000 transit workers across Metro Vancouver and negotiate with CMBC through a joint bargaining committee.
Unifor remains committed to reaching a fair agreement that reflects the value of the work its members perform. The union will continue to bargain in good faith and will keep members and the public informed as talks proceed.
