Unifor is proud to announce 35 new members from AGI Canadian Company have joined our union.

“Airport workers keep Canada’s aviation system moving, and they deserve the protections and bargaining power that only a union can provide,” said Unifor National President Lana Payne.

“By joining Unifor, AGI workers have chosen collective strength and a seat at the table. We are proud to welcome these new members and support them in the fight for fairness.”

These members are passenger service agents at Edmonton International Airport and perform work for United Airlines and Alaska Airlines.

Unifor organized these workers beginning in February and the labour board automatically certified the group on April 22.

“This victory shows that when workers stand together, they can change their workplace for the better,” said Unifor Western Regional Director Gavin McGarrigle.

“AGI members at Edmonton International Airport have sent a clear message that they are ready for a new era of respect, and a stronger voice on the job. Unifor is ready to stand with them every step of the way.”

Members were motivated to unionized for improvements at their workplace, including working conditions, wages, and a collective voice.

“We are committed to fairness, dignity, and collective strength, we are joining together to advocate for the rights and well-being of every member,” said worker Jaspreet Kaur.

“Our strength lies in our unity together. We protect rights, elevate voices, and build a fairer future for all.”
