Unifor Local 4304 members working at Great Canadian Coaches (GCC) have ratified a new collective agreement, with 91 per cent voting in favour of the deal.
“This ratified agreement shows what a strong and united membership can accomplish at the bargaining table,” said Unifor National President Lana Payne. “Congratulations to the bargaining committee and Local 4304 members for securing important gains that will improve working conditions and fairness on the job.”
The agreement delivers significant improvements for members, including wage increases, stronger seniority protections, and clearer processes for job assignments.
“We’re proud of the work of our bargaining committee and the support from our membership throughout this process,” said Unifor Local 4304 President Heath Abbott. “This agreement brings meaningful change, especially when it comes to fairness, transparency, and ensuring members receive the work and pay they deserve.”
Key gains in the agreement include improvements to kilometre rates and meal allowances, as well as guaranteed hours and days of work for senior drivers—addressing long-standing concerns about scheduling inequities.
The agreement also updates the employer’s overtime program to ensure it is compliant and that overtime is properly averaged, ensuring members are fairly compensated.
