Tentative agreement reached with VIA Rail
Dear members,
Council 4000 and Local 100 have reached a tentative agreement with VIA Rail following a difficult round of bargaining.
Your strong strike mandate and support throughout negotiations pushed the employer to finally address key issues at the table. The tentative deal includes gains on wages, job security and working conditions. Full details will be presented at upcoming ratification meetings.
Ratification votes will take place in the coming weeks, with schedules to be shared by your local union representatives.
It is essential that all members attend their ratification meeting and cast their vote. These meetings are the only opportunity to hear directly from the bargaining committees and ask questions about the agreement.
We recognize the challenges members faced during this round and thank you for your solidarity and patience. This tentative agreement represents a meaningful step forward for Unifor members at VIA Rail.
