Dear Members,
Today, your bargaining committee met with Geoff Walsh, CEO of DHL Express Canada. During this meeting, the company advised the union of its plans to suspend the import of international packages starting Monday, June 16, if a tentative agreement is not reached by then.
Additionally, DHL plans to shut down all operations nationwide on Thursday, June 19—just before new federal anti-scab legislation takes effect. The law would hit employers with financial penalties for using scab labour during a labour dispute, something DHL has blatantly done throughout this lockout/strike action.
We stand firm in our mission. Your bargaining committee is unwavering in its fight to secure a fair collective agreement. Let us be absolutely clear: we will not be intimidated by the company’s threats to disrupt service or shut down operations.
DHL’s aggressive tactics—designed to pressure and divide us—will not succeed. We remain united, and we will not back down.
We are committed to keeping you informed as developments unfold.
In solidarity,
DHL National Bargaining Committee
