Stop the rollback on our rights
On January 1, 2019, Ontario’s minimum wage is scheduled to increase to $15 an hour.
But our Premier is threatening to cancel this increase, and those threats are becoming louder every day.
We’ve convinced the people of this province that workers deserve better. We need you to take action on October 15 to show members of provincial parliament just how many of us are ready to defend the $15 minimum wage and all protections for workers.
The Fight for $15 and Fairness campaign and the Ontario Federation of Labour are jointly calling for a day of action on October 15 to defend workers’ rights.
Unifor encourages all local unions and members to participate and plan events in your workplaces and communities.
Contact @email or your local to plan an action. Let us know about it and we can help you promote it.
To participate in events that are already organized across the province, check out the list compiled by the Worker’s Action Centre: https://www.15andfairness.org/events
Share photos and video from your actions with us by emailing @email.
Remember, all is not lost. The protections that we won in Bill 148 are still on the books, and on January 1, 2019, the minimum wage is still set to increase.
The majority of people in this province support the $15 minimum wage, and millions of workers are counting on the increase. To take action today, email your MPP!
