Dear Atlantic Unifor Members,

We are writing today to let you know that the Atlantic Regional Executive have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Atlantic Regional Council.  We will not be looking to reschedule this year’s event, but look forward to renewed solidarity in 2021.

If you booked a room at Hotel Halifax using the Unifor room block, your reservation has been cancelled.

We are all facing difficult and uncertain times in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Please remember that we are facing this together. Stay in touch with each other. Support each other. If you need help, don’t be afraid to reach out.

Unifor has launched a hub for member information and resources about the pandemic at unifor.org/COVID19 and we encourage members to check the site regularly for updates.

Regional Councils meet at least once a year, with every local eligible to send delegates to discuss and debate important issues in their regions such as provincial labour laws and policies, and regional economic and social concerns. Regional Councils will also spearhead various campaigns and activities.

The next Atlantic Regional Council will be held May 28-30, 2020 at the Halifax Convention Centre, 1650 Argyle St, Halifax, NS.
