Unifor invites you to attend the CALM Conference 2016

Thursday, May 12 – Saturday, May 14, in Quebec City

If you’re responsible for your local’s communications or you want to be, don’t miss this!

The Canadian Association of Labour Media (CALM) is the only organization that brings labour communicators together, across unions, regions and sectors, to strategize and acquire tools to improve communications. This conference is intended for all local union communicators, web administrators, newsletter writers and editors.

No matter what your skill level is, this is an opportunity to learn, to share and to strengthen your skills – so join us! There will also be a French stream for participants.

Workshops include:

  • Intro to social media
  • How to make a video
  • Website building & hosting- the basics
  • Sticking to the message - interview techniques
  • Increasing social media presence
  • Video editing
  • Website building
  • How to work with journalists
  • Paid promotions in social media

Registration starts Thursday at 4 p.m. with an evening meet and greet. Sessions begin Friday at 9 a.m.  and continue until 4 p.m. on Saturday. This year's conference is being held at the Delta Hotel in downtown Quebec City. Delegates are eligible for a preferred rate, just mention the Canadian Association of Labour Media conference when you book your room. Hotel rooms start at $165 per night. The deadline to book your hotel room is April 11.
