Negotiations between the Unifor Master Committee and GM continue with the intent of reaching a tentative settlement before the midnight deadline on Monday, September 19. Consequently, bargaining with Fiat and Ford will pause during this period.

VICTORIA, Aug. 29, 2016 /CNW/ - Growing frustrations about staffing levels have forced Unifor Local 4276 to serve 72-hour strike notice at the Fairmont Empress Hotel. A strike could begin as early as Thursday morning if hotel owners don't make serious proposals for a fair deal.
Unifor applauds the findings of an Occupational Health and Safety investigation, conducted on behalf of the federal Ministry of Labour, into the “All off” model used by many companies in the armoured car industry.
