Unifor president Jerry Dias was inducted into the Milton Walk of Fame as part of the historic town's 150-year anniversary celebration. This honour is a recognition of the collective strength of all Unifor members in our fight for good jobs and progressive values in this country. Congratulations Jerry, and thank you to the Town of Milton!
Jerry Dias has lived most of his adult life in Milton and launched his career in 1978 at then de Havilland Aircraft where he served as a steward, plant chairperson and eventually president before being appointed to the CAW National Staff.
Unifor recognizes the unending commitment that Dias has shown the Canadian Labour movement and Unifor members, serving as President of Unifor since the founding convention in 2013. The Milton Historical Society recognized Dias’s leadership in negotiations with the Detroit Three, as well as Bell Canada, Bombardier and Suncor, specifically.
Dias was joined by friends and family to accept the honour. Six other great inductees or their families also accepted the honour of their own place on Milton’s Walk of Fame. They are listed below.

Milton's Walk of Fame is a legacy initiative of the 150th Anniversary Master Committee, assisted by the Milton Historical Society. Each Walk of Fame inductee is permanently recognized in the historic Town Hall.
