TORONTO- Naureen Rizvi, Unifor Ontario Regional Director, will be available to comment on the 2019 Ontario Budget following its release.
Rizvi will attend the budget speech and media scrum at the Ontario Legislative Building on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 4:00 p.m.
“The working people of Ontario are uniting around the defense of public services, for stronger healthcare, education, and a better future for our families", said Rizvi. “It’s the responsibility of the provincial government to uphold those services and listen to the people of Ontario, not continue down their path of cuts and destruction.”
In a pre-budget submission, Unifor recommended that the provincial government reverse course and fully fund healthcare and long-term care in Ontario. The union also demanded that the government stop its attack on workers’ rights and on students.
