A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, Scott will be fondly remembered as a dedicated unionist who will be deeply missed by all.

Scott was a positive force in our union who cared deeply about people and our members. He expressed it in different ways, by always showing up, sending uplifting text messages, and always having a giant smile on his face. He was a true positive force in our union. And in the world.

Scott worked in the automotive parts sector at Lear Corporation for 32 years and was first elected to the union as an alternate steward. Soon after, he was elected to the bargaining committee and then elected as Chairperson and as an executive board member of Local 222.

In 2018, he accepted a position as a National Representative in Ottawa and in 2022 was appointed as Unifor National Road Transportation Director.

Scott strongly believed that all transit workers deserve decent pay and safe working conditions.  He worked tirelessly in support of truck, transit, school bus and taxi operators, couriers, mechanics, cleaners and maintenance workers in the transportation sector across Canada and around the globe. Last October, Scott was elected as a member of the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) Urban Transport Committee.

Scott embodied the values of our union and was a relentless advocate, friend and dear brother to his Unifor family.

We know that his legacy lives on through the people he inspired.

A celebration of life will take place in the coming weeks with details forthcoming.
