VANCOUVER—Strong wage and benefit increases are highlights of a new collective agreement ratified May 10, 2025, by Unifor Local 3000 members, ending the 12-day strike at the Arbutus Club, a private club in Vancouver.

“Congratulations to the Unifor members at the Arbutus Club, who stood up to the employer to win a fair contract that reflects their important contribution to the Club’s operations,” said Unifor National President Lana Payne. “When we fight, we win.”

The new agreement includes a wide range of benefits enhancements, including increases to the employer contribution for vision care, massage, therapy, and the footwear allowance. Wages will improve at least 16% over the duration of the three-year contract, including a $0.55 per hour increase retroactive to Jan. 1, 2025.

“This is one of the most important collective agreements in the history of this workplace,” said Gavin McGarrigle, Unifor Western Regional Director. “By taking bold action, Local 3000 members secured strong improvements across the board.”

Unifor is Canada’s largest union in the private sector, representing 320,000 workers in every major area of the economy. The union advocates for all working people and their rights, fights for equality and social justice in Canada and abroad, and strives to create progressive change for a better future.
