Vancouver—A tentative agreement reached on May 1 has been ratified by Unifor members at Loomis Express during a series of meetings across the country this week.

“Our new collective agreement fairly reflects the important contribution of Unifor members to Loomis Express’ success,” said Todd Romanow, Unifor National Representative.

The new four-year contract includes a 10% wage increase, other monetary benefits, and a pension enhancement. Unifor was also successful in bargaining additional sick days, eight Women’s Advocate positions, and eliminated the ability to contract out work.

Unifor represents 1,600 workers at Loomis Express. The membership includes hourly drivers, owner operators, call centre staff, clerical, and warehouse workers. The previous contract expired on March 31, 2017.
