Unifor Local 973 members have voted in favour of a new three-year collective agreement with Coca-Cola, securing key gains in wages and pensions for 700 workers at the Brampton production facility.

The new agreement delivers annual wage increases of 4%, 4%, and 5% over the term of the contract, as well as improvements to the defined benefit pension plan, including a $2 per year increase—totaling $6 over the life of the agreement.

“I congratulate the Local bargaining committee for their work in responding to the members’ needs and working hard to secure an agreement,” said Unifor National President Lana Payne. “This is a solid agreement that delivers real gains for our members.”

In addition to monetary improvements, the contract also includes strengthened collective agreement language that will better protect workers on the job.

“This deal reflects the priorities our members brought to the table,” said Mike Egan, President of Unifor Local 973. “Our bargaining team worked hard to achieve a fair and respectful agreement with meaningful improvements.”

The ratification marks another important step forward in Unifor’s ongoing efforts to raise standards for workers across the food and beverage sector.
