Unifor Local 4050 members at CommerceLink Logistics in Calgary and Nisku, Alberta, have ratified their first collective agreement, with 87 per cent voting in favour of ratification.

“Congratulations to Local 4050 members at CommerceLink Logistics on securing their first collective agreement. This is what workers can achieve when they stand together,” said Unifor National President Lana Payne. “These members faced a challenging round of bargaining and still secured meaningful gains. This agreement puts important protections in writing and builds a strong foundation for future rounds of bargaining.”

The agreement delivers a 2.5 per cent wage increase for employees hired before ratification, retroactive to March 4, 2026, along with improved shift premiums and improved premiums for specialized work. It formalizes wage rates across classifications and strengthens compensation structures. The agreement also introduces enhanced protections against contracting out, stronger protections for bargaining unit work, and wait-time protections for pay-per-mile drivers.

“This first agreement is a credit to the perseverance of the bargaining committee and the commitment of every member who stood with them,” said Unifor Western Regional Director Gavin McGarrigle. “First-contract bargaining is often difficult, but these members held firm and secured real improvements: better wages, stronger protections, and greater fairness on the job. I want to thank Local 4050 members for everything they brought to this fight.”

The agreement expires on May 30, 2027. As their first collective agreement, it establishes the rights, protections and standards that Local 4050 members will build on in future rounds of bargaining.

The agreement covers 256 Unifor Local 4050 members who work as truck drivers transporting goods for Walmart and other customers, along with yard coordinators and related logistics workers.
