Welcome to the official website for the founding Unifor convention. More than 2,000 delegates will gather at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1, 2013 for the first convention of Canada’s largest private sector union. The Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) union and the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP) will be holding their final conventions on Friday, Aug. 30th, before joining together to officially create Unifor.
This website will carry up-to-the-minute news updates during the convention, livestream coverage of speakers, videos shown to delegates, photos, interviews with participants, and more.
In the days and weeks leading up to convention, have a look at the reports and videos that form the building blocks of Unifor, including the proposal committee’s final report, proposed policies and merger agreements to be voted on by delegates, news updates, photos and videos of the name launch.
