The Good Jobs Summit is going to be an exciting opportunity to discuss real solutions to long-term underemployment and the growth of precarious work – and create a shared action plan for the future. If you can’t make it in person, you can tune in from your computer or handheld device.
The Good Jobs Summit will bring together students, workers, researchers, policy makers, government, employers and unions as part of a national conversation on creating good jobs. The Summit features a great line-up of speakers, including former advisor to Barack Obama and CNN commentator Van Jones, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives Ontario Director Trish Hennesy, Unifor Economist Jim Stanford, Metro Vancouver Alliance organizer Deborah Littman, GE Canada President and CEO Elyse Allan, Unifor President Jerry Dias and many others.
The Summit kicks off at 7pm ET on Friday, October 3 with a debate on good jobs, from a range of perspectives. It will set the tone for a weekend of discussion and new ideas. Check out the entire schedule here.
The Summit takes place downtown Toronto October 3-5 at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (formerly Maple Leaf Gardens). It’s free to attend and you can still sign up to attend. But if you can’t make it in person, be sure to tune in online for the livestream. The whole weekend will be livestreamed, with the exception of the workshops.
