TORONTO, March 26, 2014 /CNW/ - Unifor, Canada's newest labour union is sponsoring a town hall meeting Thursday evening, bringing together local partners to address the intersection between community services and workers' rights.

Unifor kicked off an ongoing campaign in January, aiming to raise awareness about the legislative challenges being posed to workers' rights in Canada. Part of the campaign was a national tour, which visited nearly 20 locations across the country.
Unifor is Canada's newest labour union, representing 305,000 members across the country in twenty different economic sectors. Unifor is committed to ensuring safer workplaces, secure employment, wages and benefits that provide a decent standard of living, dignity and respect in the workplace. Unifor was formed last Labour Day weekend by the coming together of the Canadian Auto Workers union and the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers union.
