CPKC workers vote overwhelmingly in favour of strike action
Dear Members,
Unifor members of Local 101R at Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway (CPKC) have voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action, with 99% of members supporting the mandate, preparing to take action should an agreement not be reached by 12:01 a.m. eastern standard time on January 29, 2025.
The strong mandate reflects members’ determination to achieve a fair contract that values their contributions and addresses long-standing issues.
Workers are united in calling for job security, work ownership, fair compensation, and improved working conditions, sending a clear message to CPKC that concessions will not be accepted.
Negotiations with CPKC are scheduled to take place in Calgary from January 24 to January 29. Unifor’s bargaining committee remains committed to securing an agreement that prioritizes fairness and respect for all members.
We will continue to provide updates on unifor.org/cpkcbargaining2025 as we move forward with the process.
In solidarity,
Local 101R CPKC Master Bargaining Committee
