National President’s recommendations help set our direction

The 2018 Canadian Council is nearly here! Happening in Halifax from August 17-19, more than 1,000 delegates will discuss, debate and vote on resolutions for the union. Along with resolutions that are submitted by local unions, delegates will also have an opportunity to hear from the national leadership team, great speakers, and debate and vote on recommendations from the National President.

There is plenty of work to do at this year’s council and all delegates are encouraged to read materials in advance of the meeting.

To help delegates prepare for the council proceedings and to keep all members informed about the important business of the union, a copy of the National President’s recommendations is available online.

Download the PDF package of the National President’s Recommendations to read in advance.

All of the resolutions and recommendations discussed at Council that are approved by a majority of delegates present will set the course of the union’s work for the next year because each one contains an action item that helps to establish priorities for Unifor.

To read last year’s adopted  National President's recommendations and resolutions submitted by locals visit unifor.org/canadiancouncil. Stay tuned for more updates on the 2018 Council.
