Workers at a Kuehne + Nagel Ltd. warehouse in Mississauga have voted to join Unifor, the second location of the company to be represented by Unifor in just two months.

“We came to Unifor because it has the resources we needed, and can give us a voice,” said Joe Evans, a worker at Kuehne + Nagel.

“We really felt we were in good hands.”

The 158 workers join 38 workers at another Kuehne + Nagel location who voted to join Unifor in May,  where the Ontario Labour Relations Board is currently hearing arguments from the company and Unifor over which workers should be in the union.

The company provides third-party logistics for retail operations, delivering to them the products that they carry on their shelves by acting as a conduit between suppliers and retailers.

Unifor is working with workers at more Kuehne + Nagel locations who are also interested in joining a union.

“More and more, the workers at this company are seeing for themselves the advantage of being part of Unifor,” said Danny McBride, Acting Organizing Director.
