Workers at the Toromont-Orenda plant voted to ratify a new three-year collective agreement on October 21, 2018.

“Congratulations to the members and the bargaining committee in securing funding to Unifor’s Social Justice Fund and Women's Advocate Program,” said Scott Mcllmoyle, Unifor Ontario Regional Council Chairperson and President of Local 112. “Unifor’s Social Justice Fund helps improve labour, human rights, and working conditions of all workers, regardless of where they live and work.”

Unifor Local 112 Toromont-Orenda represents 55 skilled trades and production workers at Toromont CAT in Brampton, Ontario.

The new contract includes annual wage increases, improved contract language, an increase in benefits for work boots, orthodontist, dental and vision.

"I am proud of the skill and determination of the union's bargaining committee,” said Andrew Kilgour, Plant Chairperson. “From the first day of bargaining our committee was determined to secure gains for our membership.”
