Good Afternoon Sisters and Brothers

Your bargaining committee met two days this week with the Employer - Nova Scotia Health and IWK.  After two long days, there are still a number of outstanding issues and progress has been slow. This completes six days of bargaining, which began in late December. This round of bargaining has been very challenging as we are unable to meet in person and must do so virtually.

The Council has scheduled two additional days of bargaining for March 7 and 8, 2022.  The Council of Unions consists of members from Unifor, CUPE and NSGEU representing facilities and members from across the Province in the Health Support Bargaining Unit.

While virtual bargaining has been a very slow and tedious process, some progress has been made but there are multiple issues in both language and monetary provisions that still need to be negotiated.

The Council of Unions will continue to report on progress of bargaining with members in the coming weeks, and will relay as much information on the status of talks as is possible. Our objective is to be as open and transparent with members as possible, without undermining the integrity of the bargaining process.

Please stay tuned for further updates in your email.

Because of the restrictions with the pandemic, communication and voting on a new agreement can only take place electronically.  It is vital that you provide your personal email address to your Union.  Please post this notice in your work area and share with other members.
