Dear members,
We wanted to give you an update with ongoing negotiations with the company.
Throughout October and November, the union and company representatives convened to discuss provincial proposals. Unfortunately, these meetings resulted in minimal progress, which is disappointing for all parties involved.
We have additional bargaining dates scheduled during the week of Jan. 19, 2025.
We expect this will be a tough round of bargaining as DHL Express Canada wants to aggressively change the agreement, however, we will continue to stand in solidarity and fight hard for what our members deserve.
We have over 100 grievances across the country around issues like harassment, bumping, posting, discipline, core zone changes, contracting out and reroutes.
In the past, we would have one to two arbitrations per year to address these complaints. We currently have over 50 grievances at arbitration.
Your support is vital. As we move through negotiations, there may be times your union will ask you to write to government representatives or participate in an event or rally. When we show how united and strong we are, we show the employer how hard we are willing to fight to get the pay and working conditions we deserve.
We thank you for your patience and support as we move through this process.
Please share this message with your coworkers if they aren’t receiving these emails and ask them to reach out to us to update their contact information with the union. They can also sign up for updates on unifor.org/DHLBargaining or subscribe to DHL Delivered.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to a member of your local bargaining committee.
Thank you for your support and we will keep you in the loop of any new updates as they arise.
In solidarity,
DHL National Bargaining committee
