Condolences for Tragedy in Freshwater Bay, Newfoundland
The latest tragedy experienced by fish harvesters, while out at sea conducting their work is heart-breaking. It is a sad reminder of the dangers experienced by those in this profession.
On behalf of our Unifor union family, we send our condolences and heartfelt love to all the families, friends and to all the communities near Freshwater Bay, St. John’s Newfoundland and beyond, that are affected by this loss.
While there is no word or act we can do to take away this sadness please know that Unifor members and our National Executive Board are thinking of all of you in this difficult time.
Unifor is committed to advancing safety for all workers, in every sector and from coast to coast to coast. With FFAW-Unifor and the Fish Harvesting Safety Association, we will continue to advocate and push for advancements to ensure all possible risks are minimized and reduced.
