Tuesday, October 21, 2025, marks the 25th annual Child Care Worker and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day!

Unifor proudly joins the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care (OCBCC), the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), and allies across the province in recognizing the indispensable role of Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) and all child care workers. These dedicated professionals provide vital services for our children and our communities.

The theme of this year’s Appreciation Day is “Care Counts,” a reminder that care is an essential part of early learning. It also underscores the need to value, respect, and fairly compensate those who provide this essential care work.

Unifor is committed to fighting for better working conditions, wages, and respect for child care workers. We know that when we work together to ensure that ECEs and staff thrive, the children in their care thrive.

Together, we acknowledge and thank the ECEs and child care workers who help our children learn and grow. Their care doesn’t just count today – it counts every single day.
