HALIFAX, June 10, 2014 /CNW/ - Unifor members and local labour leaders will be holding a rally in support of their colleagues who are on strike at Cascade Aerospace in Abbotsford, BC, which is owned by the IMP Group, based in Halifax.

"Our members are on the picket line right now in order to defend good jobs for the next generation of workers. Cascade wants to create a two-tier system that is basically saying our children will be entitled to less in this workplace," said Lana Payne, Unifor Atlantic Regional Director. "There is a very real possibility that the next generation of workers will not do as well as their parents because of demands like these from employers."

Workers will be leafleting outside of the Kenneth C. Rowe Management Building at Dalhousie University to raise awareness about the Cascade dispute.
