This course is a safe space and open only to members who self identify as part of the LGBTQ2SI+ community.
If you’re interested in making your union and your community a safer space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, two-spirit, intersex (LGBTQ2SI+) members, and are looking for tools and tactics to get started, this course is right for you! In the Pride Activist Course you’ll meet other queer activists from across the country ready to organize their first meeting, political action or organize their locals participation in a pride parade. The course tackles current issues facing the LGBTQ2SI+ community with an aim towards winning change for members. In addition to learning more about queer and trans history, participants will discuss union structure, direct action, and how to create change. Participants will leave with a valuable network of peers, and a plan for action to take back to their local unions and communities.
