As international trade agreements including the new NAFTA and the CPTPP are in process, Unifor invites you to participate in the Oshawa People’s Trade Town Hall.
This community town hall on trade will provide an open forum to discuss an important issue that has a direct impact on all of us. Canadians deserve to have a voice in the development of trade policy.
The People’s Trade Town Hall, hosted by GM Oshawa Matters, will take place on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Unifor Local 222 union hall located at 1425 Phillip Murray Ave, Oshawa. Food and refreshments will be served at 4:00 p.m. with the Town Hall scheduled to run from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Participants will receive an update on the status of trade negotiations and hear from guest speaker Chris Buckley, President of the Ontario Federation of Labour, before engaging in a dialogue on how trade policy can benefit workers and not just corporations. Everyone is welcome to join the conversation as Unifor re-imagines what a People’s Trade agenda might look like.
