Guy Desforges

Guy Desforges is the president of Unifor Local 445 in Edmonton, an amalgamated local with nine units. Desforges has been with the local since 1987 when he was hired at what is now known as Saputo Dairy Products.

Desforges started his involvement with his local’s bargaining unit in 1990; first with the Health and Safety Committee, then as shop steward, vice president, and then president in 2008.

Believing that workplace and community involvement is vital, Desforges sat on the executive committee of the Edmonton and District Labor Council for eleven years and ran in his federal riding of Sturgeon River Parkland in 2015.
