As a result of concessionary bargaining by the employer, these Unifor members have been forced to hold the picket line for more than 100 days and counting.

June 29 Day of Action and Rally

It is critical to show members on strike, their employer, and elected officials, that Unifor members across the country are watching this dispute closely and that our members have our unwavering support.

A rally is being held on Thursday, June 29 in Windsor. We ask that all Unifor local unions in driving range plan to send a delegation and, if feasible, organize buses for your members to attend. National Officers Lana Payne, Len Poirier, and Naureen Rizvi will all be in attendance for this demonstration of solidarity.

Please gather by 11a.m. for a rally at 12 noon in the green space behind Windsor City Hall (350 City Hall Square, Windsor). Expect to stay for 3 hours. Free Parking is available at Caesars Casino Parking Garage (257 Glengarry Ave, Windsor)

For this rally Unifor will reimburse those local unions for mileage in accordance with the Local Union Expense policy. No lost-time, accommodations, or any other expenses or per diems will be reimbursed to local unions.

Support the June 29 rally from outside Southwestern Ontario

While not every local can attend in person, please mark June 29 as a day for mobilizing in support of Unifor members on strike at Windsor Salt.

We ask that members outside the region take a photo with your executive board and post to your social media channels expressing your support using the hashtag #SolidarityWindsorSalt

Thank you for your ongoing support for members in Windsor.
