The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, P.C., M.P.
Prime Minister of Canada

Prime Minister Trudeau,

Let me begin by offering my sincere congratulations on your reelection as Prime Minster of Canada. I look forward to continuing to work with your government to improve the lives of working people throughout this great nation.

With the election campaign in the rear view mirror, it is time to focus on the road towards a fair and equitable recovery from the pandemic.

I am formally requesting a meeting with you and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh to discuss our shared commitment to building back better.

Now more than ever, Canadians need stability. No single party was unilaterally endorsed in this election and Canadians expect you to work together to strengthen our economy and the services that they depend upon. The Liberal Party of Canada and the New Democratic Party of Canada share many common goals that, if realized, would drastically improve working and living conditions for their constituents.

This is the opportunity to implement progressive policies on childcare, long-term care, pharmacare, reconciliation, climate change, improved Employment Insurance, and the protection and expansion of good jobs. The time to act is now.

I look forward to a productive discussion about how we can work together to ensure a better future for Canadians.

Thank you,

Jerry Dias
National President
