Kitimat—Unifor Local 2301 has signed a tentative agreement with Rio Tinto governing the 900 workers at the smelter in Kitimat.
“I’m proud of the bargaining committee’s tenacity during this process,” said Jerry Dias, Unifor National President. “These Unifor members stood up to a global mining giant and got the new collective agreement that they deserve.”
The four-year agreement will be voted on by Local 2301 members on July 27 and 28.
